Managing in the Digital Age
In the internet age, communicating with staff and employees has taken a digital turn. In modern times we can now potentially manage an entire staff from the comfort of our office desk, or even a home office. Imagine that. Looking out a cabin in the mountains, I would prefer Big Bear Mountain here in California, and managing your entire staff. From your computer.
Obviously the first program which comes to mind for digital managing, is Skype. Now I use skype to manage my own staff, which are located overseas. Thus some nights I am one late at night in the twilight of the am, working like an owl managing my staff and delegating tasks and following up on progress. There are also other software programs you can use, to have face time with multiple people at the same time. This I believe is the future of the business world. The era of the digital company. An era where everyone is interacting for the most part over the internet through skype and other programs. This in my opinion is also the future of management.
This will change how we manage, the digital manager era will have us managers delegating tasks and interacting with entire staff teams over the internet, even possibly from the comfort of our own homes, and home offices. Imagine that. If you are somewhat tech saavy this is great news. If not, then I would definitely suggest looking into and reading up on the new software programs which allow users to interact with each other.
