Evolution of Management Technology

In this fast changing technological era we find ourselves managing today, technologies effects are all around us. Even in our jobs as managers.

Using tools and software such as i-pads, smart phones, skype, and go meeting software, we can actually manage staff all across the country, even the world right from our computers, tablets, ipads and even smart phones. Me personally, I manage an entire staff all across the world, an international manager in a sense.

Thus, it is a good idea to keep up to date on the technology and the software available to help us manager and also be better managers. For example, lets say one of your employees cannot make it to work because their car is in the shop or traffic was really rough that day. Well you can assign them  a virtual work day where you collaborate with them via skype or go meeting and have them work at their home using a labtop either your company issued them, or their own personal labtop. This way the emploee does not miss the day, “technically” and the company does not miss a day of productivity (for that day) from  the employee.

Also, with the technology and software available to us today, we can have an entire staff working around the world while we manage them directly from our computers. This is great for the owners or freelancers out there that have projects and or have to run their companies. Using skype and go meeting software you can manage your staff from your own location. This is a great and efficient way to have literally a “virtual staff” literally at your fingertips.

My point in today’s article is to get this main point across. Which is , try and use technology to make you a more efficient manager, which in turn creates a more efficient staff.
